Learn the story and technique behind one of Germany’s most beautiful traditional cookies. In this special spring class, we will explore the art of springerle, a South German biscuit known for its intricate embossed designs and delicate texture. Though often associated with Christmas today, springerle were historically baked for both religious holidays and everyday celebrations throughout the year, making them especially meaningful as we prepare for Easter.

Springerle are made by pressing a carved mold into rolled dough, allowing the detailed impression to dry before baking. This drying process preserves the intricate pattern on the surface, resulting in a cookie that feels almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

In this class you will:
• Learn the history and symbolism behind traditional molds
• Practice pressing and preparing springerle dough
• Receive an exclusive cookie mold to take home
• Enjoy several flavors of springerle cookies
• Share a cozy cup of tea together

This is a lovely class for anyone who enjoys heritage baking, meaningful traditions, and gathering around the table to create something beautiful by hand.

We will have chilled water and freshly brewed hot tea for you during the class; however, you are welcome to bring your own sip.  We will have wine glasses for your beverage, should you choose to bring one.  We do ask that you do not bring hard liquor.

All reservations for our classes are non-refundable, however, they are transferable to another guest.  In the event you are unable to attend a class, please call the shop at your earliest convenience and provide the name you are transferring your reservation to.  If you are unable to find a replacement and there is a waitlist for the class, we will do our best to fill your spot. If we are successful, we will apply your fee to a future class.
