Join us for an evening celebrating this treasured Southern tradition as we explore the techniques behind creating a perfectly tender cake and its signature homemade caramel icing. Throughout the class, you'll learn essential baking skills, including proper measuring using both cups and grams, mixing methods, scraping the bowl correctly, and tips for avoiding common cake baking mistakes. Along the way, we'll also share the history and cultural significance that has made this cake a Southern favorite for generations.

Guests will be welcomed with a slice of homemade Southern Little Layer Caramel Cake, prepared in advance and served with hot coffee or tea, creating the perfect start to an evening of storytelling, baking, and Southern hospitality.

We will have chilled water for you during the class; however, you are welcome to bring your own sip. We will have wine glasses for your beverage, should you choose to bring one. We do ask that you do not bring hard liquor.

All reservations for our classes are non-refundable, however, they are transferable to another guest. In the event you are unable to attend a class, please call the shop at your earliest convenience and provide the name you are transferring your reservation to. If you are unable to find a replacement and there is a waitlist for the class, we will do our best to fill your spot. If we are successful, we will apply your fee to a future class.
